The Dailies Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 1, 2026

Overview

The Dailies is a Daily Chitas learning companion for Chumash, Tehillim, Tanya, daily reviews, streaks, and progress. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and how you can delete it.

Information We Collect

When you create or use an account, we may collect account information such as your name, username, email address, and authentication details needed to keep you signed in. If you choose Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, authentication is handled through Firebase Authentication and the identity provider you choose.

We collect learning activity that you create in the app, including selected tracks, daily completions, review attempts, progress, streaks, achievements, calendar activity, and app settings.

If you choose to invite friends or open a referral link, we may collect limited referral and connection information such as the invite code used, whether an invite was opened, and whether a pending friend connection should be created between accounts.

If you choose to use contacts-based friend discovery, the app may request permission to read contacts from your device. Contacts are used only to help you find people you may know in The Dailies. We do not sell contacts or use them for advertising.

If you choose to turn on notifications, we collect the device push token and related notification settings needed to send reminders, streak recovery messages, or milestone notifications that you request.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide the app, show your daily learning status, save completions and review results, maintain streaks and achievements, support account access, improve reliability, and respond to support requests.

We use analytics, crash reporting, and install attribution to understand reliability, improve the product, measure installs, and understand which features help people keep up with daily learning. This includes providers such as PostHog for product analytics, Sentry and Firebase Crashlytics for error reporting, and AppsFlyer for install attribution. We do not use your data for third-party advertising.

Push notifications are optional. If you turn them on, we may use them for reminders, streak recovery, and milestone messages such as completing all three daily tracks. The app does not request notification permission on cold start. Permission is requested only from in-app flows such as Settings or the triple-crown completion path.

We also use referral and attribution information to understand when an invite link or install source led someone into the app and to connect that referral to the right account when appropriate.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate the app, such as hosting, database, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, attribution, notifications, and support providers. For example, this may include Firebase, PostHog, Sentry, AppsFlyer, Expo, and our cloud hosting providers. These providers are used to run the app and are not permitted to use your information for their own advertising.

Third-Party Sources

The app may link to or display study sources from third-party religious learning resources. Those resources may have their own terms and privacy practices when opened outside The Dailies.

Retention

We keep account, learning, referral, and notification data for as long as it is needed to operate the app, maintain your progress and streak history, comply with legal obligations, and resolve support or security issues. We may delete or anonymize information when it is no longer needed for those purposes.

Data Deletion

You can delete your account in the app from Settings > Delete Account. This removes your account, learning progress, reminders, friend/referral data, contact-import records, notification devices, and account-linked preferences unless we are required to keep limited records for legal, fraud-prevention, security, or provider audit reasons.

If you cannot access the app, you can request help with account or learning-data deletion by emailing hello@dailychitas.com.
